BRIDGEPORT - May 29, 2002
The
International Securities Exchange (ISE), the electronic options exchange based
in New York, teamed up with the New York Mets and manager Bobby Valentine to
support the Swim.
During the entire 2002 season, ISE pledged to donate $250 for each Mets victory,
with a minimum donation for the season of $25,000. This relationship was announced
in a press conference at Shea Stadium on May 29, before a game with the Philadelphia
Phillies.
ISE President and CEO David Krell was thrilled to support the Swim and join the
Valentine, the Swim Honorary Co-Chairman with men's fashion designer Joseph Abboud.
"We are grateful to share with Bobby and the Mets in this opportunity to support
the noble work of the Swim. I know that I speak for the entire ISE team, including
staff, board and members, in expressing our admiration for those engaged in this
crusade to fight cancer," said Krell.
ISE is the only fully electronic options exchange in the United States, the first
nationally registered securities exchange since 1973, and the world's first options
marketplace combining electronic trading and auction market principles. Trading
in this innovative market began on May 26, 2000.
Valentine pointed out that he's enjoyed his relationship with the Swim and is
pleased to help support it. Valentine has a personal interest in battling cancer
since the disease has touched both his mother and brother.
"I'm proud to be involved with the Swim. It's a unique organization that helps
people with cancer in their communities," Valentine said. I applaud ISE's support
and we're excited to have them aboard. We hope this will be a long relationship
between ISE and the Swim." |
